Second Bloom
The mission of Second Bloom of Chatham is to identify and raise awareness of the needs of those in Chatham County affected by any form of domestic and/or sexual violence and to work in collaboration with the community to meet those needs.
Second Bloom of Chatham, Inc. was incorporated as a non-profit agency in August of 2017. Second Bloom’s name came from the long-respected and thriving thrift store in the Chatham community, which benefited the community mission to support victims and survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.  Our motivation was for that mission to bloom again.
Second Bloom went through an extensive, deliberative process of community meetings to garner input and support from broad sectors of our community. In the meantime, Chatham County stepped forward to fill necessary tasks for survivors, including assistance obtaining Domestic Violence Protective Orders. Over the last three years, Second Bloom of Chatham, Inc. has collaborated with Chatham County to slowly, deliberately, and sustainably build a new non-profit agency to assist survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.
